THE MEETINGS
Where?
In the Lamar Library
When?
4-5pm
First Tuesday and last Thursday of the month
*Please note that these days and locations are subject to change depending on the library's availability.
What are we doing?
In the first meeting of the month, there will be books of different genres available for you to read. You will blindly read an excerpt of the book and choose your favorite.
In the last meeting of the month, you should have already read the work you were assigned and have two points of discussion ready to bring up. We will essentially have a show and tell concerning each member's books where you are free to talk about whatever you like.
YOUR PARTICIPATION
Please commit to the books you select in the first meeting and have them read by the end of the month!
What do I talk about?
Anything you like! Have no idea? Talk about...
- The general plot
- Favorite moments/characters
- What message do you think the book was trying to convey?
-Why do you think the author
- Do you recommend this book?
And more importantly, have fun! This is no way meant to be stressful nor do you have to feel nervous about speaking.
You can read any medium you like (such as manga, poems, short stories, novels, biographies, etc.) just as long as it has elements pertaining to the monthly genre.
You can even reference books you have read for English class that fit the monthly genre. However, I highly encourage you to read something new.

ADDITIONAL EVENTS
The library will also sponsor decorating events in which you can help decorate the library after school. Dates are posted on the calendar for these events.
Additionally, consider donating your used books to the book club that you have not touched in a while. These books will go to the school library and will be available for anyone in the school to read. So, the enjoyment you had of the book can be shared!
